General safety statements

Strictly follow the instructions for use. The user must fully

understand and strictly observe the instructions.
Use the Dräger X-act 5000 only for the purposes specified in
chap. 2.4 on page 11.
In addition, follow the instructions for use of the Dräger-Tube
hereafter referred to as tubes, as well as of the sampling tubes and
systems.
Do not dispose of the instructions for use. Ensure that they are

retained and appropriately used by the product user.
Only fully trained and competent users are permitted to use this

product.
Comply with all local and national rules and regulations associated

with this product (e. g. IEC 60079-14).
Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to inspect,

repair, and service the product as detailed in the Maintenance
section of this document. Dräger recommends a Dräger service
contract for all maintenance activities and that all repairs are
carried out by Dräger.
Only use genuine Dräger spare parts and accessories. Otherwise,

the proper functioning of the product may be impaired and there is
the risk of explosion. Furthermore, the approval will be invalid.
Do not substitute components of this product. Substitution of

components may impair intrinsic safety.
Do not use a faulty or incomplete product, and do not modify the

product.
Notify Dräger in the event of any component fault or failure.

When you use interfaces or make adjustments or perform

procedures that are not specified in these instructions for use, this
may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

To ensure continued laser safety, only use the power supply

specified in these instructions for use.
Only use equipment or components which have been tested and

approved according to the national regulations on electrical
equipment in rooms subject to explosion hazards and according to
the national mining regulations under the conditions specified in
the approval.
Prior to safety-relevant measurements, perform a leak test and

check the calibration.

The operation modes of tubes and Dräger pumps are harmonized.

Using pumps and tubes of different manufacturers can impair the
proper function of the pumps and/or tubes. This may result in
considerable measurement errors.
Condition of safe use: The measured capacitance of the exposed

metal screws is 5 pF.
