WARNINGS:
1. Make sure the brakes are applied before getting
in or out of the wheelchair.

USING THE REAR SUPPORT PEDALS AND BRAKES: Use one of the rear support pedals to lift the front
wheels, for example, when climbing a curb. To do this, push the rear support pedals down with one foot.
Do not lift the small front wheels by pushing down on the handles, as this could damage the wheelchair.
CLIMBING A CURB: Approach the curb from the front. The caregiver should use the rear support pe-
dals to raise the front wheels and lower them onto the curb once the curb is raised. Finally, the caregiver
should push the wheelchair forward, lifting it slightly to raise the curb if necessary.
LOWERING A CURB: Place the front wheels in front of the curb. The caregiver should use the support
pedals to raise the front wheels and tilt the occupant back slightly. While keeping the wheels up, slightly
lower the wheelchair toward the curb.
