Moving wire lane, installation of control unit
1.
Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
2.
Remove coverings of boot floor, hat tray, side panelling, and rear panelling.
3.
Make a
19mm hole at a suitable, even spot on the right side outside of the middle in the
Ø
rear wall; remove burrs, treat with anticorrosive agent and leave to dry.
4.
Lay the socket end of the wire lane through the bore hole from the boot to the outside to the
socket retaining plate. Pull the enclosed small leadthrough bushing onto the wire lane and
insert into the leadthrough.
5.
Fit on the socket sealing and connect the socket according to the wiring diagram. Fit together
the inner part with the socket housing, put the socket sealing in place and screw onto the
holder with the enclosed screws. Make sure the seals sit properly.
6.
Lay the wire lane coloured green-white, yellow, ... to the left tail light, pull out the vehicle's tail
light plug and stick it into the relevant counter plug of the wire lane. Place the remaining plug
shell on the tail light.
7.
Insert the white 12-pin plug into the enclosed trailer control unit and affix the unit to a suitable
place on the left side wall of the boot with Velcro tape.
8.
Use the ring eyelet to attach the brown and brown-white earth wire to the vehicle's earthing
point at the left tail light.
9.
The 0.35mm² brown-white single wire of the trailer control unit is used for vehicles with parking
aid. In this case this single wire is attached to the parking aid's control unit (refer to operating
manual of the parking aid), in all other cases this single wire is not connected.
10. Lay the remaining wire lane coloured grey-yellow, red-green, ... to the right of the boot, pull out
the tail light plug and stick it into the relevant counter plug of the wire lane. Place the remaining
plug shell on the tail light.
11.
Lay the long red single cable along the left side of the vehicle to the front, to the battery. Insert
the individual flat plug receptacle and the flat plug receptacle of the enclosed single wire into
the fuse holder, attach the fuse clips, insert the fuse (10A) into the fuse holder and place the
cover onto the fuse holder. Connect the ring eyelet to the positive terminal of the battery.
12. Connect all wires with the enclosed cable binders.
