Using your freezer
Household freezers are only designed to store frozen food products, freeze fresh food
products and make ice.
The quantity of food to be frozen must not exceed the quantity indicated on the rating label which is
positioned on the wall behind the bottom basket. If the quantity to be frozen exceeds this value, it is
always possible to freeze in several batches.
Food safety
Due to the increasing consumption of prepared meals and other delicate foods, better control of the
transport and storage temperature of foods is required:
•
Limit the number of times you open the door.
•
Adjust the therm ostat to obtain a lower temperature. This adjustment should be done gradually
so it does not cause food to thaw.
•
Defrost and clean the inside of the freezer regularly.
Adjusting the temperature
The inside temperature is adjusted by the thermostat controlled by the knob on the control panel once
the door is opened. The "MAX" position (MAXIMUM) corresponds to the coldest temperature The
"MIN" (MINIMUM) corresponds to the warmest temperature. The temperature obtained inside the
appliance may vary according to conditions of use: location, ambient temperature, frequency of door
opening, quantity of food inside, etc. The setting can be changed taking these conditions into account.
In general, an acceptable temperature can be obtained with a "MED" (MEDIUM) settin g; for colder or
warmer temperatures, adjust the thermostat knob accordingly.
To switch off the appliance for defrosting without unplugging it, turn the thermostat knob to the left to
the "OFF" position. You will hear a click. This does not disconnect the freezer from the mains supply
completely, to do this you must remove the mains plug from the wall socket
"Rapid freeze" function

in advance.

panel. The yellow indicator light will illuminate.

After 24 hours press the rapid freeze button again and the yellow indicator light will go off.
The rapid freeze function can be deactivated at any time by pressing the button.
Package food in appropriate food grade containers to prevent exchanges of bacteria between food.
Wait for dishes to cool before putting them in the freezer.
Freezing fresh products
♦ Only freeze top quality products after cleaning them and preparing them if necessary.
♦ Leave cooked dishes to cool at room temperature before putting them in the freezer.
♦ All products to be frozen should be packaged in plastic bags, special aluminium trays for the
freezer or plastic containers. This packaging must be sealed.
♦ The size of each package should be in proportion with family consumption so it is used up in one
go. Freezing is quicker and more uniform with smaller packages.
♦ Do not freeze a quantity of product in one go that exceeds the freezing capacity of the appliance
indicated on the rating label which is positioned on the wall behind the bottom basket.
