6. MAINTENANCE

Ash
The ash pan must be emptied on a regular base. Be careful when doing so, because the
ash may still contain glowing embers 24 hours after the fire has gone out. Therefore, pre-
ferably empty the ash pan in a steel container which does not contain any inflammable
parts. Remove all the ash from the stove at least once every two weeks and check whe-
ther the inside of the stove is still intact.
Cleaning
The stove may only be cleaned when it is cold. Clean the outside of the stove using a soft
cloth or a soft brush. Do not use water or aggressive cleaning agents. Any grease spots on
the stone can best be removed using cleaning spirit. Do not get cleaning spirit on the ena-
melled surface.
Tiles
Soapstone is a natural product. Cracks may appear in the stone. This will not affect the
operation of the stove.
Window
If a deposit is present on the window despite the clean-window facility, this can be remo-
ved using wire wool.
Doors and seals
Regularly check whether the door seals (including the ash pan's door) are still complete
and flexible. If not, the seals must be replaced. Only use original components when
replacing the seals.
Inner wall
Every three months during the stove burning season, the entire firebrick stones must be removed in
order to remove all the ash from behind or on this wall. If necessary, this should be carried out
more often. Carry out the procedure shown in figure D to remove the firebrick stones. The space
behind the inner wall can be cleaned with a brush or a vacuum cleaner. Only do this after the stove
has cooled down completely. Check whether there is any damage to the parts of the wall.
Soot and creosote
All soot and creosote must be removed from the inside of the stove once a year.
Flue
The flue must be swept clean once a year. The flue must only be swept clean by a recog-
nized chimney sweep.
Warranty
The warranty is no longer valid if insufficient maintenance has been carried out on the
stove.
