GREASE GUN SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Tool or hose components may break under high pressure. Always check the tool for damage or wear before using it. Never
use the tool with damaged or worn parts.
Use only approved hoses. Only use hoses identical to those factory-fi tted to the tool or specifi ed by the manufacturer.
If the hose is twisted, kinked or damaged, it can cause serious injury. Replace the hose at the fi rst sign of wear, twist or
damage.
Use only the grease recommended in the manual. Using other greases may cause injuries.
Stop the mechanisms for the time of grease application. Using the grease gun near moving parts can result in serious injury.
The grease is discharged from the tool under high pressure. Never point the grease gun outlet towards you or towards
other people or animals. Always use protective gloves and protective clothing with long sleeves and legs when handling the
grease gun.
Risk of fi re. The grease can be fl ammable. Do not expose grease to high temperatures or fi re. Read the information supplied
with the grease before using it.
TOOL OPERATION
Preparing for operation
Warning! Before beginning preparation activities, make sure that the tool is disconnected from the power supply. The battery must
be removed from the tool's socket.
Caution! It is forbidden to use substances other than solid greases. In particular, it is forbidden to use agents bonding when ex-
posed to air, such as silicones, sealing compounds or adhesives.
Caution! Before fi lling the tank with grease, thoroughly clean the tank and the grease gun from the remnants of the previous
grease. Diff erent greases can react with each other, causing health hazards and damage to the tool. If the residues of the previ-
ously used grease are inside the grease, after fi lling the tank with a new grease, the grease gun outlet should be aimed at a safe
place and the trigger pressed until only the new grease starts to come out.
Unscrew the outlet valve (II).
Grasp the tool handle with one hand and the grease tank piston handle with the other. Pull the piston handle until it can be locked
by sliding it in the cylinder cover opening (III).
Unscrew the tank cover and remove it together with the piston (IV). When unscrewing, be careful not to unlock the piston. Make
sure that the piston seal faces the inside of the piston (V). Install the cover by fi xing it to the tank, then unlock the piston and lower
it as far as possible. A small amount of grease can escape through the outlet valve.
Caution! There may be a small amount of grease inside the cylinder, which is necessary for the factory test of the tool, as well as
for the maintenance of metal parts during transport and storage.
Unscrew the grease tank, push the tank piston in completely. Place the tank in a container with grease so that the open end of the
tank is about 5 cm below the grease level. Slowly pull out the tank piston, fi lling it with grease to the desired volume. Next, lock the
piston. Remove grease from the outer surface of the tank, then carefully fi x the tank to the grease gun. Release the piston lock
and push it as far as possible to remove any remaining air from inside the tank. Close the outlet valve.
Caution! If the grease proves to be too thick to fi ll the tank as described above, the grease can be applied with an additional tool
(e.g. a spatula) to the inside of the tank.
The grease gun has a hose bracket which facilitates transport and storage (VI). The hose tip should be protected with the cover
which will reduce the risk of contamination of the hose tip.
Battery installation
Only the following 18V Li-Ion YATO batteries can be used to power the tool: YT-82842, YT-82843, YT-82844 and YT-82845, which
can only be charged with YATO YT-82848 or YT-82849 chargers. It is forbidden to use other batteries with a diff erent rated voltage
and not matching the tool battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them match.
Slide the charged battery into the guides of the battery socket so that the battery latch holds it in place (VII). Check whether the
battery does not slide out of the tool socket by itself.
Grease gun operation
After fi lling the tank with grease, remove the remnants of the old grease and the remaining air from inside the tank.
Unhook the hose from the handle and uncover its tip, which should be aimed at a safe spot, e.g. inside the tank.
The tool switch has a lock to prevent the tool from starting accidentally. The lock blocks the switch if it is set to the closed padlock
symbol and unlocks the switch when it is set to the open padlock symbol.
