Recharging the battery:
If the battery is completely discharged, charge
it according to steps 1-5 of the battery charging
procedure. Do not recharge the battery repeatedly
after short use (less than 15 min.). You can extend
the life of the battery if you let it completely discharge
before charging.
CHECKING BATTERY CONDITION
Battery status can be checked using the battery
status indicator (3-6).
Press and hold the button on the battery status
indicator and the LED indicators will light up.
If 3 LED indicators light up (2 green, 1 red - 2 and 3
and 4), the device is fully charged. If 2 LEDs
indicator lights (1 green, 1 red - 3 and 4) are lit, the
device has half capacity. If 1 LED indicator (1 red - 4)
lights up, the device needs to be charged soon.
Inserting and removing the battery
1. Insert the charged battery into the tool handle until
it clicks into place
Check that the battery is securely seated
locked in place.
CAUTION: Always make sure the tool is turned off
and the battery cartridge is removed before making
any adjustments or checking the function of the tool.
Installing or removing the battery cartridge
CAUTION: Always turn off the tool before installing
or removing the battery.
CAUTION: Hold the tool and battery firmly when
inserting or removing the battery. If you do not hold
the tool and battery firmly, they may slip out of your
hands and cause damage to the tool and battery and
personal injury.
Checking the chain brake
CAUTION: Hold the chainsaw with one hand when
switching on. The bar and chain must not touch any
object.
Checking brake runout
CAUTION: If the saw chain does not stop within one
second of this test, stop using the chain saw.
Start the chainsaw and then fully release the
trigger. The saw chain must stop within one second.
Removing or installing a saw chain
CAUTION: Saw chain and guide bar are still hot
immediately after operation. Allow the tool to cool
down sufficiently before working on it.
CAUTION: Perform the saw chain installation or
removal procedure in a clean area free of sawdust
and the like. To remove the saw chain, perform the
following steps:
1. Release the trigger
2. Turn the knob on the chain plate counterclockwise,
then release the saw chain.
3. Remove the gear cover and then remove the saw
chain and guide bar from the chain saw body. To
install the saw chain, complete the following steps:
1. Check the direction of the saw chain. Align the
direction of the saw chain with the direction of the
mark on the body of the chain saw.
2. Place one end of the chain on top of the guide bar.
3. Place the other end of the chain around the
sprocket, then attach the guide bar to the body of the
chainsaw, aligning the hole in the guide bar with the
pin on the chainsaw body.
4. Insert the tab on the sprocket cover into the
body of the chainsaw, then close the cover
so that the screw and pins on the chainsaw
body meet the counterparts on the cover.
5. Tighten the knob to secure the gear cover, then
loosen it slightly to adjust the tension.
Adjusting the saw chain tension
CAUTION: Do not overtighten the saw chain. Too
much tension on the saw chain can cause the saw
chain to break, the guide bar to wear and the adjust-
ment wheel to break.
CAUTION: A chain that is too loose can jump off
the bar and cause injury.
The saw chain can become loose after many hours
of use. Check the saw chain tension from time to time
before use.
1. Release the trigger
2. Loosen the retaining nut a little to release the gear
cover easily.
3. Raise the tip of the guide bar slightly and adjust the
chain tension. Turn the set screw clockwise to tighten
it, turn it counter-clockwise to loosen it. Tension the
