6. Prefit the Wall Surrounds
Place the back wall on the bath. Ensure that the back wall tabs are engaged in the bath alignment
channels as shown in the illustration.
Temporarily install a roofing nail or equivalent over the top of the nail flange into the center of a
stud. Do not drive the nail in so far that it interferes with the remaining wall.
Position both end walls ensuring that the wall interlock pins are engaged and the end wall tabs are
engaged in the bath alignment channels as shown in the illustration.
Do not secure the walls to the stud framing at this time.
Verify that the assembled wall surround is resting properly on the bath. If required, remove the
roofing nail at the back wall.
Verify that the end walls are flush with the edge of the bath. If required, push or pull the end walls
into position.
While assembled, check fit and verify that the surround walls are properly aligned with the studs at
the upper and vertical nailing flanges.
If required, add shims to bring the studs into contact with the wall surround.
