1. Introduction
The AREC.X / AREC / REC 7 with ceramic plate is used to heat and mix (not available on REC) liquids inside a suitable
container placed on the ceramic plate. The stirring (not available on REC 7) is possible thanks to a magnetic drive stir bar
placed into the vessel.
The instrument is used in the laboratory for general use and for all those applications that require a precise regulation of the
stirring speed (not available on REC 7) and of the heating plate temperature.
The ceramic heating plate allows to reach higher temperature than a traditional aluminium heating plate; furthermore, the
ceramic is an inert and very hard material, so it offers great resistance to almost any type of chemical or mechanical
aggression keeping the surface characteristics unaltered over time.
The heating plate works up to 550 °C.
The motor (not available on REC 7) is able to stir up to 1500 rpm.
The electronic board allows to maintain constant speed as viscosity changes.
The AREC.X can work in combination with the Pt100 external probe or the VTF external thermoregulator for precise and
accurate control of the sample temperature.
Note: it's important to choose the most suitable magnetic stirring bar related to the type and quantity of the liquid to be
stirred as well as to the type of the beaker. Size and shape of the magnetic stir bar determine the stirring efficiency at any
given speed. The stirring bar which satisfies most applications is code A00000356 (8 x 40 mm).
2. Installation
•
Unpacking
➢ Check the integrity of the unit after unpacking
•
The box includes
➢ AREC.X / AREC / REC 7
➢ Instruction manual
➢ Magnetic stir bar Ø 8 x 40 mm (A00000356)
➢ Power supply cable
•
Installation
➢ Place the unit on a non-flammable surface
➢ Make sure that the technical specification of the unit and the power supply line are the same
➢ Make sure the electrical network is grounded
➢ Make sure that the main switch is on position "0" (OFF)
➢ Connect the instrument to an easily accessible socket (compliant with the current safety norms), using only the
provided power supply cable
Note: keep the power supply cable far away from the hot plate.
➢ Place the container with the liquid and the stir bar (not for REC) on the on the stirring plate
