7. Tighten with wrench to compress washer. If spark
plug is new, use 1/2 turn to compress washer
appropriate amount. If reusing old spark plug, use
1/8 to 1/4 turn for proper washer compression.
NOTE:
An improperly tightened spark plug will become
very hot and could damage the engine.
8. Reinstall the spark plug cap (B).

Air Filter Maintenance
For proper performance and long life, keep air filter
clean.
1. Turn the knob (A) on the bottom of air the filter
cover to release. Remove cover (B) and set aside.
2. Remove the filter element (C).
3. If the filter element is dirty, clean with warm,
soapy water. Rinse and let dry.
4. Apply a light coat of engine lubricant to the
element, then squeeze it out.
5. Replace the element (C) in the air filter unit.
6. Replace the air filter cover (B) and fasten knob (A).

Battery Replacement
WARNING
Burn hazard. The battery contains sulfuric acid
(electrolyte) which is highly corrosive and poisonous.
Wear protective clothing and eye protection when
working near the battery. Keep children away from
the battery.
CAUTION
Battery posts, terminals contain lead and lead
compounds. Wash hands after handling.
1. Remove spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2. Disconnect positive cable (A) and negative cable
(B) from the battery by removing bolts (M6x12)
and nuts (M6) from the negative and positive
battery posts.
3. Loosen and remove bolts (C) (M6x12) on the
battery holding bracket (D).
4. Replace the battery with new battery.
Battery specifications: 12V, 14AH sealed lead acid.

5. Reinstall the battery holding bracket (D) and tighten
the bolts (C).
6. Connect the positive cable with red boot first and
then connect the negative cable with black boot.
Tighten the bolts and nuts and cover them with
boots.
7. Install the spark plug wire onto the spark plug.
