11. Maintenance
Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries inside ARX are known to require minimal
maintenance. However, there are some general maintenance recommendations to
ensure optimal performance and longevity of the battery:
•
Periodically inspect the battery for any visible signs of damage, corrosion, or
loose connections.
•
Keep the battery and its terminals clean. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove any
dust, dirt, or residue.
•
Ensure that all battery terminals and connections are securely tightened.
•
Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures.
•
LiFePO4 batteries do not require equalization charging, a common maintenance
task for lead-acid batteries.
•
While LiFePO4 batteries are less sensitive to deep discharges, it is still advisable
to avoid deep discharges whenever possible.
•
Ensure that the charging voltage and current are within the recommended
limits to prevent the BMS from switching off the battery.
•
For a multi-battery parallel application, if one of the batteries fails and needs to
be replaced, make sure that the voltage difference between the newly replaced
battery and other batteries is within the 2V range.
•
Regularly check for battery management system updates.
