Important Safety Rules
WARNING
17. Read this manual in its entirety.
Serious injury or death can result if safety instructions are not followed.
Everyone who operates the log splitter must read and fully understand all
safety rules, operating instructions and maintenance instructions, and
maintenance instructions.
You must be 16 years of age or older to operate this machine. Keep
untrained people away.
-Turn off the engine before leaving the log splitter unattended.
18. Danger of crushing.
The wedge can cut through the skin and break the sharps. Keep both
hands away from the wedge and end plate.
-Serious accidents can occur when other people are allowed into the
work zone. Keep everyone else out of the work zone while operating the
control valve.
-Do not wear loose-fitting clothing. It can get tangled in the moving parts
of the log splitter.
-Use the log splitter only in daylight so you can see what you are doing.
19. Flying objects.
Pieces of log can fly away as they split. Wear safety glasses. Serious eye
injuries can occur.
20. Danger of skin injection.
The high-pressure fluid can be injected under the skin, which can lead to
serious injury, including amputation.
-Make sure all fittings are tight before applying pressure. Relieve
pressure from the system before performing maintenance.
-Do not check for leaks by hand. Instead, use a piece of cardboard to
check for leaks.
-If an injection occurs in the skin, seek immediate "surgical treatment."
