7. GLUE CONSUMPTION AND APPROPRIATE EDGE
The roller mechanism applies glue to the tape in lines distribu-
ted vertically according to the standard thicknesses of various
panels available in the market. Between the different applied
lines, there is a thin layer that also provides adhesion of the
tape to the panel.
The machine is factory-set for applying glue to a 23 mm tape.
For taller tapes, the glue flow should be increased (see section
9). In this case, it is necessary to keep the tank full to ensure
an adequate supply of glue.
7.1 QUICK EMPTYING PROCEDURE OF THE GLUE POT (EVA
GLUE)
With the hot glue pot at 190°C, support it from the front end
on a base or wooden strip approximately 40 mm high and tilt
it slightly as shown in the figure (Fig. 16-4) to proceed with
the glue emptying.
Next, remove the glue pot lid and, using the included 8 mm hex
key, loosen the glue pot plug. Once the emptying hole is open,
the glue will flow from the glue pot into the silicone emptying
container. The glue residue remaining in the corners of the glue
pot can be pushed towards the emptying hole using a piece of
edge banding available in carpentry (Fig. 16-5).
Once the glue pot is emptied and cooled down, the drawer
containing the silicone container can be opened to extract
the emptied glue (Fig. 16-6). If visually in good condition,
without solid residues or blackened parts, the glue can be
reused by cutting it into small pieces and reintroducing it into
the working glue pot.
7.2 QUICK EMPTYING PROCEDURE OF THE GLUE POT IN
CASE OF PUR GLUE
After using the edge bander with PUR glue, it is im-
portant to ensure that the edge bander is not inactive
for a period longer than 36-48 hours, depending on
the ambient humidity, without emptying the glue
pot and the PUR glue content in the edge bander.

If the machine is going to be idle for a long period of time
after the last job with PUR glue, it is necessary to perform a
complete cleaning of the glue pot and the gluing mechanism
by using the Virutex cleaning agent (ref 8599284), following
its instructions, after emptying the glue pot. This ensures the
removal of any PUR glue residue and prevents the machine
from malfunctions and irreversible damage. The warranty right
will be void if the connection, installation, commissioning,
operation, use, and maintenance of the tools have not been
carried out in accordance with the instruction manual and
other documentation of the various tools.
