PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
CAUTION
RECOMMENDED USE
Never use your wood splitter for any purpose other than wood splitting. It is designed for this use and any other use
may cause serious injury and void the warranty. This machine may cut, burn or damage parts of your body if they
enter the intake or exhaust area of the wood chipper.
Fuel is highly flammable and fumes are explosive. Prenez les précautions suivantes.
•
Store fuel and oil in approved containers.
•
Keep them away from heat and flames, and out of the reach of children.
•
Refuel only outdoors and do not smoke while refuelling.
•
Check and add fuel before starting the engine.
•
Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel while the engine is running or when the engine is hot. Allow the
engine to cool before refuelling.
•
If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine, move the machine away from the area of spillage and
avoid creating any source of ignition until the fuel vapours have disappeared.
•
Replace all fuel tank and fuel container caps securely.
•
Never store the machine or fuel container where there is an open flame or spark, such as a gas water heater,
space heater, clothes dryer, or oven.
•
To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine and mufflers free of debris.
•
Wipe up fuel and oil spills.
•
Allow the unit to cool for at least five minutes before storing.
•
Never attempt to make adjustments while the engine is running.
THIS MACHINE IS CAPABLE OF CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY IF MISHANDLED. READ THE
WARNINGS AND CAUTION LABELS. YOUR BIO SHREDDER WAS BUILT TO BE OPERATED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE EXPLANATIONS IN THIS MANUAL. AS WITH ANY TYPE OF POWERED
EQUIPMENT, OPERATOR NEGLIGENCE OR OPERATOR ERROR CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
IF YOU VIOLATE ANY OF THESE RULES, YOU MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO YOURSELF OR
OTHERS.
THE OPERATOR OR USER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS OR HAZARDS OCCURRING TO
OTHER PEOPLE, THEIR PROPERTY AND HIMSELF/HERSELF.
MAKE SURE ALL SAFETY LABELS ON THIS EQUIPMENT ARE KEPT CLEAN AND IN GOOD
CONDITION.
DANGER: THIS UNIT IS EQUIPPED WITH AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND MUST NOT
BE OPERATED IN OR NEAR WOODED, BRUSHY, OR UNIMPROVED GRASSY AREAS UNLESS
THE ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS EQUIPPED WITH A SPARK ARRESTER APPLICABLE TO STATE
OR LOCAL LAWS (IF ANY). IF A SPARK ARRESTER IS USED, THE OPERATOR MUST MAINTAIN
IT IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
ROTATING CUTTING BLADE.
Keep hands and feet away from the intake and discharge openings while the machine is in operation.
TOWING
•
Obey all state and local regulations when towing on public roads.
•
THIS MACHINE CANNOT BE TOWED ON THE ROAD.
•
Before towing, make sure that the chipper is properly and securely attached to the tow vehicle and that the
safety chains are in place. Leave slack in the chains to allow for turning.
•
Do not allow anyone to sit or ride on the chipper.
•
Be alert for hidden traffic hazards: Do not carry passengers.
•
Never carry cargo or wood on your chipper: It can fall and endanger others.
•
Be aware of the extra length when moving the machine.
•
Be careful when reversing. Your chipper can easily tip over.
•
Adjust towing speed to suit ground conditions. Do not exceed 45 MPH when towing.
•
Because the chipper has no suspension, it will tend to bounce more on uneven roads.
•
Use extra caution when towing over rough terrain, including railway crossings.
OPERATOR ZONE
•
Operate your chipper from the operator's area only.
•
Learn how to shut down your unit.
•
Never move your chipper or leave it unattended with the engine running.
•
Follow the engine owner's manual for maintenance and repair.
