PREPARATION
Take care when unpacking. Remove the tool, toge-
ther with the accessories supplied, from the pac-
kaging. Check carefully to ensure that the tool is in
good condition and account for all the accessories
listed in this manual . Also make sure that all the
accessories are complete. If any parts are found to
be missing (where applicable), the tool and its ac-
cessories should be returned together in their origi-
nal packaging to the retailer.
The battery pack for this tool has been shipped in a
low charge condition for safety reasons. Therefore,
you should charge it until the green LED on the front
of the charger remains a solid green.
To charge the battery:
1. Open the battery lid by pressing the latch of the
battery lid and fold the battery lid up. Slide the
battery pack (connection plates first) into the slot
on the bottom of the tool. Note the battery only
fits in one way round. Please make sure the indent
in the battery lines up with the nub on the casing
(Fig. 2.3).
2. Close the lid making sure it has been closed secu-
rely.
3. Plug the USB cable into the charger (Fig. 2.1).
4. Insert the USB connector into laser level charging
port (Fig. 2.2). Plug the charger into a standard
230V~50Hz mains socket outlet, the green LED
on the keypad will illuminate to indicate by blin-
king. Do not allow the cable to become knotted
or kinked.
When the device connects with the charger the gre-
en light is blinking.
When fully charged the green light is always on.
NOTE
When repeatedly using the charger to charge a
number of batteries always allow the charger to
cool down before charging another battery. It is
recommended that the cooling down period is
not less than 30 to 45 minutes.
OPERATION
LOCKED MODE
The tool can be used to project laser beams at any
desired angle, such as when projecting a line for
stairs or a railing. This mode produces the best re-
sults when the tool is mounted on a tripod.
Slide the Lock / Unlock switch to the "LOCK" position.
Short press the On / Off button to turn the laser level
ON.
The unit will emit a horizontal laser line, a side verti-
cal laser line and a front vertical laser line. The laser
line will flash every 5 seconds.
The laser lines can be powered one at a time or all at
the same time.
Cycle through the available modes by short pressing
the On / Off button.
Cycle 1: 1 horizontal laser plane and 2 vertical laser
planes.
Cycle 2: 1 horizontal laser plane and 1 vertical laser
plane (side).
Cycle 3: 1 horizontal laser plane and 1 vertical laser
plane (front).
Cycle 4: 2 vertical laser planes.
Cycle 5: 1 horizontal laser plane.
Cycle 6: 1 vertical laser plane (side).
Cycle 7: 1 vertical laser plane (front).
Long press the On / Off button to turn the laser level
off.
SELF-LEVELING MODE
With the laser off, Position the laser level in a suitable
place (level firm base or tripod / stand).
Slide the Lock / Unlock switch to the "UNLOCK" po-
sition.
Short press the On / Off button to turn the laser level
on.
The unit will emit a horizontal laser line, a side verti-
cal laser line and a front vertical laser line.
After switching on, the leveling function automati-
cally compensates irregularities within the self-leve-
ling range of ±4º. The leveling is finished as soon as
the laser beams no longer move.
If the tool surface deviates more than 4º from the
horizontal plane, then the automatic leveling functi-
on is not possible and the laser beams will flash. The
lines will flash continually.
In this case, bring the tool to the level position and
wait for the self-leveling to take place. As soon as the
tool is within the self-leveling range of ±4°, then the
laser lines will continuously light up.
In case of ground vibrations or position changes
during operation, the tool automatically levels again.
To avoid errors, check the position of the horizontal
and vertical laser line with regard to the reference
points upon re-leveling.
To turn the unit off slide the Lock/Unlock switch to
the "LOCK" position and long press the On / Off but-
ton.
PULSE MODE
Press the "PULSE" button (Fig. 1.5) to activate pulse
mode.
To be able to detect the laser lines over long distan-
ces (> 15 m) or in unfavorable lighting conditions, a
laser receiver must be used. The detector is able to
locate the laser beam in PULSE mode, even over long
distances.
PULSE mode is designed exclusively for use with the
LR5RG Line Laser Receiver.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
When the Power LED indicator on the control panel
flashes rapidly, it indicates battery volume is low and
requires charging.
