Installing the solar panel
A
NOTICE! Damage hazard
Do not install solar panels on a surface that is not fire resistant or that can be damaged
by high temperatures.
I
NOTE
Mount the solar panels on the roof above the battery location to keep wire run as short
as possible.
I
NOTE
If the contact surface between the adhesive backing tape and the roof if not sufficient,
use Sika sealant to ensure a proper bond of the solar panel. E.g. if the roof is uneven or
corrugated (fig. 2, page 4).
1. Clean the mounting surface with degreaser.
2. Remove the protective layer from the top of the solar panel.
3. Peel back a small portion of the non-stick layer of the adhesive backing tape on top or bottom of the solar
panel (fig. 3, page 5, 1).
A
NOTICE! Damage hazard
The adhesive backing tape of the solar panel will not bond to the surface properly if the
temperature of the surface is below 8 °C.
4. Place the side of the solar panel with the exposed backing adhesive in the desired position.
5. Remove the remainder of the non-stick layer of the adhesive tape.
6. Apply even pressure on the entire solar panel to ensure it is properly adhered to the mounting surface.
7. Apply waterproof sealing tape around the entire perimeter of the solar panel (fig. 3, page 5, 2).
I
NOTE
If using multiple solar panels, leave a gap of 25 mm between panels to allow expansion
and contraction, and to ensure solar cells are not covered with sealing tape.
