Intended Use
The device is part of the SICAM A8000 system. The SICAM A8000 system
is designed for electrical distribution stations, gas distribution stations,
hydropower plants, pipelines and railroad power supplies.
The device is not intended for use in safety-relevant applications. This
device is a class A product and may cause radio interference in a
domestic environment.
Hazardous voltages result in death, bodily injury, or substantial
material damage. Voltages can be present in the device even
after disconnecting the supply voltage (capacitors can still be
charged). Observe the safety instructions in the manuals!
Observe the technical specifications!
Only an electrically qualified person is allowed to connect,
ground, mark, commission, and disconnect the equipment
(devices and modules).
Observe manuals. The system is intended exclusively for use
in accordance with the manuals. The manuals contain
information on combining with other devices and components,
installation and connection notes, terminal diagrams,
connection diagrams, and technical specifications.

Storing and Unpacking the Device

Check packaging for transport damage.
►
Storage: −30 °C to +85 °C (−22 °F bis +185 °F). Clean environment.
Dry room so that no ice or condensation forms.
►
Visually check the device for any mechanical defects. Do not use
damaged device.
Fitting the Device
For detailed instructions, see manual.
WARNING! Only unplug or put in plugs when system is de-energized.
Prior to connecting: Properly ground the device through the ground contact
of the DIN rail.

Maintain a minimum distance of 30 mm around the system (see
fig. I). Screw the DIN rail several times to a grounded metallic base.
►
Pull the locking hooks of the device exactly vertically upwards or
downwards and lock them to the housing (see fig. II).
►
Disconnect the enclosed bus connector plug from the device and
click it separately onto the DIN rail (see fig. III).
►
If a device is already mounted, push the bus connector plug into the
plug of the mounted device.
►
Plug the device with fixed locking hooks exactly straight onto the bus
connector plug (see fig. IV). The devices must be adjacent to each
other without gaps.
►
Press the locking hooks lightly toward the housing (see fig. V). This
snaps the locking hooks onto the DIN rail.

Connecting the Device

Install and label the miniature circuit breaker for the device.
►
For wiring, use conductors only in accordance with the project
engineering (see manual).
Screw Terminals for I/O Modules and Power Supply Modules
Requirements vary depending on connector type (see fig. VI).
• Tightening torque at clamping screws type A: 0.6 Nm / type B: 0.4 Nm.
• Connection with prepared solid or stranded wire conductors. Conductor
cross-section 22 to 12 AWG (according to UL) / 0.34 mm² to 2.5 mm²
(according to IEC). Stripped length type A: 10 mm / type B: 7 mm.
• Connection of stranded wire conductors with bootlace ferrule with or
without plastic collar. Conductor cross-section 0.25 mm² to 2.5 mm².
Screw Terminals for Current Measuring Inputs
• Tightening torque at clamping screws 0.5 Nm.
• Connection with prepared solid or stranded wire conductors. CM-8820:
Conductor cross-section 24 to 14 AWG (according to UL) / 0.2 mm² to
2.5 mm² (according to IEC). Stripped length 9 mm. AI-8330: Conductor
cross-section 22 to 12 AWG (according to UL) / 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm²
(according to IEC). Stripped length 14 mm.
• Connection of stranded wire conductors with bootlace ferrule with or
without plastic collar. CM-8820: Conductor cross-section 0,25 mm² to
1,5 mm². AI-8330: Conductor cross-section 0,5 mm² to 2,5 mm².
Spring-Loaded Terminals for Communication
• Connection with prepared solid or stranded wire conductors. Conductor
cross-section 24 to 16 AWG (according to UL) / 0.2 mm² to 1.5 mm²
(according to IEC). Stripped length 10 mm.
• Connection of stranded wire conductors with bootlace ferrule with
plastic collar, conductor cross-section 0.14 mm² to 0.75 mm² / without
plastic collar, conductor cross-section 0.25 mm² to 1.5 mm².
Module Specific Information

AI-8330: Use enclosed bus connector plug (CM-8816) instead of bus
connector plug (CM-8812) enclosed with AI-8340.
►
AI-8510: For current measurement, install the required CM-8820
adaptor module at the end of the I/O module line and connect it to
AI-8510.
►
AI-8511: Do not connect directly to a mains supply circuit!
►
PS-8642: Connect power supply at plug X1 to pin 1 (L/+) and to pin 4
(N/-) (not to X2).
►
CP-8022: Maximum transmit power for the corresponding frequency
bands when using recommended antennas (see fig. VII).

tension l'équipement (appareils et modules).

appareils et composants, des instructions d'installation, des
instructions de raccordement, des schémas des bornes, des
