What to do if your tumble dryer
breaks down
Brandt has its own customer service net-
work. However, in many cases you will be
able to solve minor faults and malfunc-
tions yourself. Before you call the cus-
tomer service department, first check the
following:
The tumble dryer
will not start
• Check the fuse in your main fuse box
• Check whether the mains plug is fully
inserted into the wall socket
• Make sure that the door is properly
closed
• Check that a programme has been se-
lected and the start button pressed * .
The tumble dryer stops in the middle of
a programme
(the „reservoir 0." indicator lights up)
• The condensation water reservoir may
be full, check whether it has been emp-
tied.
• The water inlet to the condensation wa-
ter reservoir may be blocked. Pull the
condensation water reservoir out fully
and clean the water inlet nozzle.
After you have put the condensation
water reservoir back into position and the
„reservoir 0, " indicator light has gone
out, you will have to press the start but-
ton * again to continue with the pro-
gramme.
The laundry is still too damp after it has
been tumble dried or the drying time is
too long
• Clean the moisture sensor in the drum
• Check whether the lint filter has been
cleaned
• Was the drum overloaded?
• Improve the ventilation in the room by
opening a window or door
• Select a higher drying temperature
• Clean the heat exchanger
• Check the water drainage
• There may have been a power cut, press
the start button again
• Check that the condensation water
reservoir is empty.
The drum lighting (certain machine
types only) does not work
• The programme selection switch is set
to the off position I
• The lamp bulb is faulty. For safety rea-
sons the lamp may only be replaced by
the customer service engineer or by a
qualified electrician.
If you are unable to remedy the fault
yourself, contact the customer service de-
partment * and quote the model code
and the ID number that are stamped on
the rating plate at the rear of the tumble
dryer. You can contact the appropriate
customer service engineer for your area
by calling the central customer service
department.
