(C) Special warnings when using the product
1. Become familiar with the controls and the proper use of the tool.
Learn how to stop the hedge trimmer quickly in an emergency.
2. Keep children and bystanders away
Do not let bystanders touch the tool or its power cable or the extension cord.
All bystanders (esp. children) should be kept away from tool and work area.
Keep the product away from children or from their environment. Never allow children to operate the tool.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.
3. The use of this product is forbidden to children.
Children must not play with the tool.
4. Only well-instructed adults should operate the product. This product is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person
responsible for their safety.
5. Switch off the machine and disconnect the plug from the power supply when the machine is left
unattended, when maintenance is being carried out, for cleaning purposes, for blade oiling or when the
blades are blocked or when any object needs to be removed from the blade.
6. Make sure that the protection guard (3) is always mounted onto the machine when using the hedge
trimmer. Never remove any of its components and never use a damaged or incomplete machine and never
modify any of the machine components or tamper with the original trimmer arrangement in any way.
7. The use of a residual circuit device is required for machines for outdoor use.
Use a residual current device with a tripping current of 30 mA or less
8. Only use splash proof extension cord approved for outdoor use and marked accordingly.
9. Make a loop in the extension cord and hang into the cable holder (8).
10. Before using the hedge trimmer, check the machine, extension cord and plug. If any components are
worn or damaged, have them checked, repaired or replaced by an authorized service centre. Never operate
the hedge trimmer with defective guards or without the guard in place.
Do not use the machine until it has been repaired.
11. Remove the plug immediately from the socket:
- if the cable or extension cord has been damaged or cut.
- before checking, clearing a blockage or working on the hedge trimmer.
- after striking a foreign object, inspect the machine for damage and carry out repairs as necessary.
- if the hedge trimmer starts to vibrate abnormally, check it immediately.
12. Always wear suitable clothing, anti-slippery shoes and close-fitting garments, which cannot get caught
in moving parts. However, do not restrict movement. Tie long-hair back or protect with a hair net. Do not
wear bracelets or long jewellery, which could get entangled in moving parts.
Do not operate the hedge trimmer when barefoot or wearing open sandals.
13. Always wear safety goggles or a face shield, protective gloves and, if the noise exceeds 85dB (A), also
wear ear protection.
14. Do not use the machine when it is raining or on wet hedges.
15. Individuals below the age of 16 and individuals who are not perfectly familiar with the instructions, are
not allowed to operate the machine.
16. Within the working area, the person using the machine is responsible for any damage or injury sustained
by third parties or their property which has been caused by the machine. Watch your working area and do
not allow third persons or animals to be around.
17. When operating the machine take great care and always hold it firmly with both hands.
Make sure you are in a stable and secure balanced position. The power tool is guided more securely with
both hands.
Wait until the machine has come to a standstill before placing it down.
18. Check regularly that all screws are properly secured. Check the cutting blades regularly and, in case of
damage, have them repaired or exchanged by an authorized service centre.
19. Make yourself familiar with your working area and be alert for possible hazards, which you might not
