3.Turn the locking collar counterclockwise to lock the telescoping shaft at the
desired length.
NOTE: Hand tighten the locking collar.
SETTING THE TRIMMING GUIDE
The trimming guide is used to protect the trimmer line when trimming close to
objects such as fence posts, fences, decks etc.
To position the trimming guide (1), simply pull it down to its horizontal position (2)
(Fig. 8). When the trimming guide is not being used, it should be placed in its
upright position.

ROTATING THE TRIMMER HEAD FOR EDGING
The trimmer head must be rotated to the
vertical position for edging as follows:
1. Grasp the telescoping shaft (1) with
one hand (Fig. 9).
2. Press the button labeled
"Press for Edging" (2) to rotate the
trimmer head to vertical position
automatically as (Fig. 10).
LINE TRIMMING KNIFE
It is important to limit the length of the trimming lines that are exposed outside the
trimmer spool. The line trimming knife will automatically cut the exposed line at
the correct length to produce both e cient cutting action and to provide the
longest battery life. The motor may overheat if line release is attempted in tall
grass.
