INSTALLING THE GUARD
WARNING: The guard must be installed before installing the battery pack
in the tool. Serious injury may result if the tool is turned ON without the guard
in place.
1. Place the tool on its back on a clean work surface (Fig. 5).
2. Slide the guard in the direction as indicated by the arrow (2).
NOTE: Make sure the trimmer lines are not trapped between the guard mount and
the guard.
3. Install 1 screw (4) into the matching holes (5) in the motor housing.
4. Tighten screw using a #2 Screwdriver.
NOTE: Do not over tighten the screws. You will strip the threads in the motor
housing.
ADJUSTING THE ASSIST HANDLE
The assist handle mounting bracket can be slid up or down the telescoping
tube, rotated from side to side or tilted forward or backward to place the assist
handle in the most comfortable position. Turn locking lever(1) (Fig.6) before
adjusting the assist handle position and retighten it to lock the assist handle in the
new position.

ADJUSTING THE TELESCOPING SHAFT
The telescoping shaft length can be adjusted to suit the height of the person
operating the tool.
1. Rotate the telescoping shaft locking collar (1) clockwise one turn (Fig. 7).
2. Slide the lower section of the telescoping shaft (2) in or out until the desired
shaft length is achieved.
NOTE: The shaft length can be adjusted approximately 12" (30.5 cm).
