. Output
Note: When in operation none of the connections
in the circuits described
in b, с, d, e and f below
may be disconnected.
. Normal
use
The output voltage is taken from terminals
"+" and ''-" at the front of the set and/or from terminals
1 (+) and 3 (-) of the 3-pole connecting block at the rear.
Terminal
5 of the 10-pole terminal strip
must be interconnected with terminal
6 and terminal
8 with terminal
9 (Fig.
7a).
. Remote
sensing
E the instruments to be connected are at a large distance from the stabilizer,
the voltage loss in the
leads to the load must be compensated for in order to prevent adjusting errors at the terminals of
the load.
The + terminal of the load must then be connected to terminal 4 of the terminal strip and the -terminal
of the load to terminals
5 and 6 of the terminal strip by means
of extra leads (see Fig.
7b).
The leads to terminals 4 and 5/6 must be twisted or screened.
Voltage loss in the current-carrying leads to the load must not exceed 1 V (0.5 V per line); otherwise
leads of a larger diameter must be used.
. Remote voltage control
The voltage can be remotely set by means of an external rheostat of 1.34 КЯ per volt output voltage
or with an extra adjustable voltage source of 1 V per volt output voltage (1 mA).
For connection of
the external rheostat. see Fig.
7c and for connection of the voltage source see Fig.
7d. The knobs
marked
"U" must be turned fully clockwise.
The leads to terminals 5 and 7 of the terminal strip
must be twisted
or screened.
. Remote
current control
The current can also be remotely set by means of an external rheostat of approx.
50 2 per ampere
output current (this control is not entirely linear) or with an external adjustable voltage source of
25 mV
per ampere
output current (1 mA).
The maximum
voltage of the voltage source
may not
exceed
500 mV.
For connection of the external rheostat see Fig.
7e and for connection of the voltage source see
Big.
Ti.
The knobs marked
"I" (coarse and fine adjustment of the output current) must be turned fully
clockwise.
. Series connection
Maximum
three stabilizers may be connected in series to obtain an output voltage higher than 30 V.
The voltage between any one of the output terminals and earth may not exceed
90 V 7.
Series
connection according to the "master and slave" system is also possible (see Fig. 7g).
If this system is used, the total output voltage can be adjusted with the voltage control of one set
(the so-called
''master'').
The knobs marked
"U" of the other sets connected in series
(the ''slaves"')
must then be turned fully anti-clockwise and those marked
"I" fully clockwise.
. Parallel connection
Several stabilizers may be connected in parallel to obtain a higher output current.
Parallel connection according to the "master and slave" system is also possible (see Fig. 7h).
If this system is used, the output voltage and the total output current can be adjusted with the control
knobs "О" and "I" of one set (the "master").
