Knobs
"О" and "Г" of the other sets connected in parallel (the ''slaves'') must then be turned fully
clockwise.
Note: In parallel connection the terminals
13 of each instrument must be connected
in order to
obtain a good operation of the over-voltage
protection.
III. OPERATION
(Fig. 1)
A. MAINS VOLTAGE
The instrument is switched on and off with SK1 at the front panel.
B. OUTPUT
VOLTAGE
The output voltage is indicated by the combined volt/ammeter,
after the latter has been set to the
correct measuring range using one of the push-buttons (10 V or 30 V) of the "METER
RANGE"
switch.
The output voltage is adjusted using the left-hand knob "U" (coarse) and with the right-hand knob
"U'' (fine).
Over-voltage
protection
The circuit connected to the output terminals
can be protected against too high voltages with the
over-voltage protection,
which is adjustable between 3 and » 30 V by means
of a potentiometer with
Screwdriver-adjustment at the front panel.
If the voltage at the output terminals exceeds the adjusted value, the "DC FAILURE"
lamp lights up
and the output voltage decreases to 0 V. The "U" lamp (in the case of voltage stabilisation) or "I"
lamp (in the case of current stabilisation) is extinguished.
As soon as the cause of the over-voltage has been eliminated,
the output voltage may be reset by
switching the stabiliser on and off.
бЛЛОШТРОШ
CURRENT
The output current is also indicated by the combined volt/ammeter,
after the latter has been adjusted
to the correct current range using one of the push-buttons
(3 A, 10 A or 30 A) of the "METER
RANGE"
switch.
The output current is adjusted using the left-hand knob "I" (coarse) and the right-hand knob "I" (fine).
If necessary,
the output terminals can be short-circuited when adjusting the output current.
This
operation should be effected at a low output voltage.
Note: During transport,
set "METER
RANGE"
switch to position 3 A to damp the movements
of the
moving-coil in the meter as much as possible.
