Place the plastic supports on the lower ledger by unscrewing the threaded caps so that the glass tube tip can be inserted easily.
Fit the seals around the glass tube, lubricate with soapy water if necessary.
Spread thermal paste on the heat pipe condenser and insert it into the
well. Tighten the cap of the glass tube to secure the installation.
Repeat this operation for all tubes.
Caution!
Do not overtighten the cap, risk of sudden breakage of the
glass tube.
When glass tubes have been fixed, install the parabolic reflectors.
Place the reflector crest between two glass tubes and secure it using the
plastic clips; 3 clips are provided for each reflector. Use the holes drilled
in the reflector and rotate the clip until it fits between two tubes.
Repeat this operation for all reflectors.

5. Grounding
Like all metal structures, the Favignana system must be properly
grounded prior to commissioning.
Caution!
When the system is started for the first time, even if the
radiation is sufficient, it will take some time before the

one day after installation.
6. Maintenance and troubleshooting
In order to ensure the solar thermal system's proper operation, the
following periodic checks must be performed:
In the first 2 days of system operation
Domestic hot water: the system must reach its operating temperature
and overcome the heat inertia of all its components.
In the first 7 days of system operation
Supporting structure: check for correct tightening of the supporting
structure screws.
Once a year
Glass and parabolic reflector cleaning: eliminate any encrustations from
the surfaces.
7. Disposal
At the end of the product life-cycle its metallic components
should be handed over to operators authorised to collect
metallic materials for recycling purposes, while non-metallic
components should be handed over to operators authorised to
dispose of them.
If disposed of by the end customer, the products must be managed as
urban waste and therefore in compliance with the municipal regulationsì
of the relevant municipality. In any case they should not be managed as
household waste.
