3.4.4 Use
When using the DHW tank, never exceed the pressure and temperature
limits indicated on the system plate. Always remember that the maximum
domestic hot water accumulation and distribution temperatures are
subject to limitations by law. In Italy, please refer to the provisions of the
law no. 10/91 and Italian Presidential Decree no. 412 of 23/08/1993, as
amended. In order for the product to ensure adequate protection against
electrochemical corrosion, even for warranty purposes, it must always be
equipped with the supplied protection.
Cordivari S.r.l. provides a magnesium anode as standard. Since the
anode wear depends upon the operating conditions and the type of
water, and cannot be established beforehand, the inspection plan must
be initially scheduled to arrange for its periodic replacement.
Furthermore, in order to ensure adequate protection, as well as to ensure
the validity of the warranty, the water used must not exceed the values
established by the statutory guidelines for water intended for human
consumption.
In general, for domestic hot water production systems, it is necessary to
comply with the UNI CTI 8065 standard, which requires various types of
water treatments based on the characteristics of the water itself.
The warranty does not cover any damage arising from the failure to
comply with UNI CTI 8065.
3.4.5 Favignana DHW tank maintenance
Check the integrity of the DHW tank's magnesium Anode. If worn, it must
be replaced in order to prevent the DHW tank's corrosion.
4. System installation
WIND HAZARD!
Solar systems have a large area exposed to the wind,
therefore do not install in case of strong winds. It is
recommended to comply with the regulatory requirements
regarding the effects of the atmospheric agents, particularly
the effects of wind and the maximum snow load. Always
respect the limitations and instructions illustrated in
paragraph 3.2
DANGER OF FALLING!
The installation of solar energy systems very often requires
working on roofs or surfaces with consequent danger of
falling. In these conditions safety regulations in force must
be complied with. In particular, adequate fall prevention and
protection systems should be provided.
If fall protection systems are not available, use suitable
individual harness.
DANGER: SUSPENDED LOADS!
When lifting materials by means of cranes or similar
equipment comply with all relevant recommendations and
regulations. In particular, use suitable lifting equipment and
delimit the operation areas to eliminate risks of injury from
falling of suspended loads.

For every type of installation, the structures must be anchored
to the support surface using suitable fasteners (not supplied).
The manufacturer shall bear no responsibility, and every
form of warranty shall likewise be void, in the event that the
structures are not properly anchored to the support surfaces.
This fastening operation must be performed by the installer
using suitable fastening tools (not supplied), for example
using expansion blocks or other similar systems, taking care
to seal everything using appropriate products in order to
prevent water infiltrations.
The minimum vertical load to be borne by the system securing
the structure to the supporting surface shall be 500 N per
anchorage point. Make sure the floor mounting points.
Make sure the floor mounting points are on the same support
surface (horizontal or slightly tilted) and avoid any torsion
stress that may damage the collector. The fastening of the
structure to the ground is fundamental to ensuring its safety
and stability. The manufacturer shall bear no responsibility, and
every form of warranty shall likewise be void, in the event that
the structures are not properly fastened to the ground.
For installations where the above limits are expected to be exceeded,
the installer is required under his/her responsibility to use appropriate
additional supporting and mounting systems.
The manufacturer assumes no liability and undertakes no warranty
obligations for supporting and mounting systems other than those
supplied.
The limit conditions of installation are valid in case of supporting and
mounting structure well anchored to the installation surface. We
recommend the use of 8 anchorage points, using the holes available on
the supporting and mounting structure, bearing a minimum load of 500N.
4.1 Installing the supporting structure for flat roofs
Install flat roof supporting structures for flat roof on horizontal
surfaces only.
For flat roofs, where possible, place the system at a distance of 1-2
metres from the edge so as to limit the action of strong winds.
If possible, position the collector(s) towards the South, bearing in mind
that South-east or South-west orientations can both ensure satisfactory
system operation.
After selecting the installation site, before proceeding with installation,
make sure the roof structure can bear the load generated by the solar
energy system and the water contained.
For assembly diagrams, refer to Appendix on
4.2 Installing the supporting structures for pitched roofs
If possible, position the system towards the South, bearing in mind that
South-east or South-west orientations can both ensure satisfactory
operation. After selecting the installation site, and before proceeding with
installation, make sure that the roof structure can bear the load generated
by the solar energy system and the water contained. If necessary,
reinforce the areas of the roof where the supports and tank will be resting
with appropriate ledgers and stringers.
