RCM master/slave mode, Mass configuration / initial commissioning
After entering the PIN code, pairing will launch. Please wait until
all RCMs have been paired (in this example, there are two slave

RCMs plus the master RCM).
Note:
Once a slave RCM has paired with a master RCM, it can no longer be paired with a dif-
ferent master RCM. To do so, you will need to reconfigure the slave RCM via the PDU
Mode menu. The display will show "PDU", which also applies to the RCM in this instance.
Note:
Software updates for the slave RCM are distributed via the master RCM. The master RCM
must be updated first. For further information, please visit www.rittal.com or contact Rittal
Service (see section 10). The software updates are subsequently distributed automatical-
ly among the individual slave RCMs.

Mass configuration / initial commissioning
To allow easy and quick commissioning of several RCMs, they can be preconfigured using a special
configuration file. The configuration file copied to a USB data carrier allows several RCMs to be config-
ured in just a few minutes without an operational network connection being required. To edit the file on
a PC, you will need either the RCM serial numbers or the first MAC address of the RCM network inter-
faces. A predefined sample file as well as a description of the procedure can be found on the PDU prod-
uct pages at our website.
