5. Before starting the equipment
The equipment is supplied without a battery
and without a charger.
5.1 Fitting the battery (Fig. 4-5)
Push the battery into the battery mount provided.
When the battery is positioned as in Fig. 5, make
sure that the pushlock button latches in place! To
take out the battery, press the pushlock button
and remove the battery (Fig. 6).
6. Operation
The area to be cut must fi rst be cleared of stones
and other solid objects. The safety lock-off (Fig.1/
Item 2) prevents the equipment being switched on
unintentionally.
Switching on (Fig. 7)
To switch on, press the safety lock-off (2) and
press the On/Off switch (3) at the same time.
Switching off (Fig. 8)
To switch off the equipment, let go of the On/Off
switch (3).
6.1 Charging the Lithium-Ion battery (not
included)
The corresponding instructions can be found
in the original operating instructions for your
charger.
6.2 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 3 / item 6)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (7).
The battery capacity indicator (6) shows the
charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.

2 or 1 LED(s) lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED fl ashing:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

The temperature of the battery is too low. Remove
16
the battery from the device and leave it at room
temperature for a day. If the error occurs again,
this means that the battery has been completely
depthdischarged and is defective. Remove the
battery from the device. Never use or charge a
defective battery.
6.3 Cutting grass
Allow the grass shear to glide over the ground.
The best cutting performance is achieved on dry
lawns.
When you notice a drop in cutting performance,
recharge at once so that the batteries do not
become fully discharged.
The blades must be kept in the blade guard when
the grass shear is not in use.
6.4 Cutting hedges
Hold the hedge trimmer slightly tilted in the
direction of the hedge you wish to cut.
Start by cutting the sides of the hedge working
from the bottom up, and fi nally cut the top of the
hedge.
Make sure that there are no foreign bodies in or
alongside the hedge, which could damage the
blades.
To prevent injuries, slip the blade guard over
the blade.
6.5 Changing the blades
Warning! Risk of injury!
To prevent injuries, slip the blade guard over
the blade.
To remove the blade, press the blade release
mechanism (Fig. 9/Item 4) and pull out the blade
(Fig. 10).
Once you have removed the blade you will be
able to see the toothed wheels of the gear unit.
Make sure that no dirt gets into the gear unit when
you change the blade.
To assemble, proceed in the reverse order.
Caution! When the blade release mechanism is
pressed (Fig. 9/Item 4), the blade (1) will drop out!
