Prescribed tightening torques
Components
Terminal box cover: M4 stain-
less steel cylinder head
screws
Sheath terminal M7 x 0.75
mm
Motor terminals TK
Fan connection
1. Remove the terminal box cover and take out
the accessory bag.
2. Insert the cable grommet into the terminal box.
3. Guide the power cable into the terminal box.
4. Pierce the cable grommet in a circular man-
ner. Pierce the cable grommet so that it can
tightly enclose the power cable. Attention: If
the cable grommet is not attached correctly,
water may penetrate the terminal box → risk
of short circuit/damage to unit. If necessary,
seal the cable grommet on site.
5. Connect the mains to the terminal block ac-
cording to the circuit diagram [} 37]. Observe
the tightening torques.
6. Fasten the enclosed tension relief with the two
screws.
7. Attach the on-off switch.
8. Connect optional accessory components as
described below.
9. Fit the terminal box cover so that the sur-
rounding seal is tight against the terminal box
all the way around. Attention: Damage to the
unit, due to moisture, if the terminal box cover
is not properly fitted. Observe the tightening
torques.
9.3 Operation with STX speed con-
troller (AC variants)
The fan speed can be controlled steplessly with
an STX speed controller suitable for the unit vari-
ant → www.maico-ventilatoren.com.
Due to the phase angle controller, hum-
ming noises can occur when using speed con-
trollers.
NOTICE: Too low an output voltage at the speed
controller can lead to a standstill/malfunction of
the fan.
Tightening
torque
1.0 Nm
0.7 Nm
0.7 Nm
1. Observe the operating instructions of the
speed controller.
2. Set the minimum speed on the speed control-
ler so that the fan motor restarts after a power
failure.
9.4 Operation with TRE 5-step trans-
former (AC variants)
The fan speed can be adjusted steplessly with a
TRE 5-step transformer suitable for the unit vari-
ant → www.maico-ventilatoren.com.
9.5 Operation with potentiometer (EC
variants)
The fan speed can be adjusted steplessly or in
steps with an ST EC 10, ST EC 230 or ST EC 3
potentiometer which matches the unit variant →
www.maico-ventilatoren.com.
10 Commissioning
1. Check that screw connections are tight.
2. Check air channel for dirt and clean if neces-
sary.
3. Check that the connection data matches the
technical data [} 10] → rating plate.
4. Switch the mains fuse on.
5. Run function test. Check and ensure the
smooth running of the impeller. The air must
be able to flow freely.
11 Operation
The fan is switched on or off with a main switch at
the operating location.
Ensure sufficient supply air during opera-
tion.
12 Cleaning, maintenance
The fan is maintenance-free. Nevertheless, check
the fan from time to time for bearing noises, dam-
age and disproportionate vibrations. In the event
of a fault, contact an authorised specialist in-
staller.
CAUTION! Specialist knowledge is required for
proper cleaning and maintenance of the fan.
Have the fan cleaned and serviced every two
years, by a specialist installer, so that the fan
operates hygienically.
