1.2 Introduction
1.2.1 Scope
These Instructions for Use (IFU) are applicable to Exelia Maintenance Adaptor.
Refer to the relevant accompanying documents if you need to use the following devices:
■ Exelia VP
■ Exelia SP
■ Exelia Partner

damage to the equipment, injury to patients, or injury to users.
1.2.2 Intended use
Exelia Maintenance Adaptor is intended to establish communication between the device
and Exelia Partner installed on a maintenance PC. Exelia Maintenance Adaptor powers the
device during maintenance operations.
Only use Exelia Maintenance Adaptor for maintenance operations with Exelia Partner. Exelia
Maintenance Adaptor is not intended for clinical use.
Exelia Maintenance Adaptor can be used on a daily basis both inside the hospital (biomedical
department, care units) and outside the hospital (such as an office).
1.2.2.1 Indications
Exelia Maintenance Adaptor has no medical indications.
1.2.2.2 Contraindications
There are no contraindications.
1.2.2.3 Intended users
Exelia Maintenance Adaptor is intended for use by trained biomedical staff (engineers or
technicians), or by dedicated medical rental and/or service organizations who have been
trained and approved by Fresenius Kabi.
1.2.2.4 Intended patients
Exelia Maintenance Adaptor is not intended to be used on patients.
