1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Albrecht DR 866 digital radio.
We have developed a radio with focus on the basic functions that are necessary to enjoy digital
radio. It is therefore very easy to use. The radio can be operated intuitively using the controls on the
radio or the included remote control.
In addition, screen visualisation has been completely redesigned. The redesigned screen displays
only really relevant information, which can now be indicated in a larger font and more clearly.
2. First steps
Fully extend the antenna for the best DAB+/FM radio reception.
Insert the small mains adapter plug into the DC IN socket on the back of the device and plug the
mains adapter into a mains socket. Set the ON/OFF switch to "ON" to power on the device.
When you switch on the radio for the very first time, you have to select a language. Afterwards you
can activate the "Voice support" function.
Then the device automatically performs a full station search for all available DAB/DAB+ stations
in your area. In standby mode the date and time are set automatically as soon as the radio finds a
DAB station.
3. Voice support
If you activate the voice support function, all menu entries are read out in the language you have
selected. You can select the volume of the voice support in the main menu (see chapter "9. Main
menu" on page 20). If you want to deactivate/activate the function at a later time, press and hold
the INFO button on the radio for 2 seconds.
