Connection to the AC mains
The unit can be operated with AC mains voltage of 110-125 V
and 220-240 V and has been set at the factory to 230 V.
Caution:
For safety reasons, the means voltage should only be
converted in a specialist workshop.
Connection to a HiFi system or amplifier
The following jacks are provided at the rear of your HiFi stereo
cassette deck:
LINE OUTPUT R/L
Output sockets for connecting an amplifier or receiver (input,
play) with cinch connectors.
LINE INPUT R/L
Input sockets (record) for connecting an amplifier or receiver
(output, record) with cinch connectors.
Playback
Switch on the unit by depressing power 1. The illuminated tape
winding indicator 5 plus the first two LEDs of the peak level!
indicator indicate that the unit is ready for operation.
At the same time, the dust guard 4 is swivelled away from the
heads.
Tape selection
The cassette deck is equipped with a combined auto/manual
tape selector. Cassette types with a clearly visible recess on the
back are automatically set by pressing auto 20. FeCr or metal
cassettes without code recess are set manually by pressing
buttons 16 and 18. The button auto 20 must be depressed

when playing music cassettes.
lf none of the tape selection
buttons 16, 18, 20 is depressed, the machine switches automat-
ically to the tape type Cr.
Dolby
B— CNR
In addition to having the world-renowned
Dolby B noise re-
duction system, your cassette deck is also equipped with the
new Dolby C NR system which improves the dynamic values of
your own recordings by approximately 18 dB.
In order to make
recordings, the Dolby NR system can be
selected by pressing buttons 24 or 25. When the button Dolby
C NR 24 is depressed, Dolby B NR 25 is automatically switched
off. The selected Dolby NR system is indicated by the corres-
ponding LED. Music cassettes marked with the symbol DO are
played back with Dolby B NR noise reduction.
Counter with memory
The counter 8 is used for registering
and rapidly locating
particular
points on the tape. This counter
is in operation
whenever the tape is running.
By means of the Memory feature 13, which works in combina-
tion with the counter, you can find a predetermined position on
the tape during fast winding in either direction. You mark this
position by pressing the reset button 11. If you now press one
of the buttons <4 10 or PY 14 at any particular point before or
after this and if you switch on the memory button 13, the tape
will be stopped exactly at the marked point.
Inserting and removing cassettes
Hold the cassette so the tape faces downwards. First of all insert
the upper edge of the cassette and turn it to a vertical position
until It noticeably locks into position. The cassette can be directly
removed without first pressing the button stop 9. Both DLL
buttons 3 ensure that the tape drive is automatically stopped and
that the audio heads are returned to their original position. All
drive functions
can be directly selected
without depressing
button stop 9.
Start
Playback is started with the button B® 12.
Stop
The stop button 9 switches off all functions.
Pause
When recording and replaying cassettes, a brief pause can be
made by depressing the pause button 19. In this case, the
previously active mode remains set. The tape is started again by
depressing the button » 12.

PP fast forward, <¢< fast rewind
When button ®® 14 or <4 10 is depressed fromthe stop position,
the tape is fully wound to the end. If the button memory 13 is
depressed
prior to this, the tape stops when
the counter
reaches "Q00".

if buttons »P 14 or <4 10 are depressed from the playback
position, the tape is wound to the next music gap and the unitis
then automatically switched
to playback.
Memory
gaps are
already present on records and are automatically recorded onto
tape during playback.
Music gaps may also be marked
by
pressing the button autospace 17.
Autostop
The unit has an electronic tape monitor which stops tape running
in the event of malfunctions and at the end of the tape.
Recording
" seiect the tape to be used
* select either Dolby B 25 or Dolby C 24
* if a disturbing whistle is recorded on the tape during recording
from radio, the mpx filter 26 must be switched on.
