The SCM­HV signal conditioner is used for the differen­
tial measurement of high voltages with QuantumX mod­
ules offering strain gauge full bridge input, for example
MX840, MX840A, MX440A and MX410.
Within the scope of measurement category II (supply net­
work from the socket), the maximum operating voltage to
ground potential is 300 V DC or 300 V rms AC. Taking
the maximum acceptable rms value into account, the
peak value of the voltage must not at any time exceed
700 V between the connections (differential mode) and to
ground potential (common mode).
Its robustness in the face of high voltages and transients
also makes the SCM­HV suitable input protection for
QuantumX modules, when the voltages to be measured
include high voltage peaks.
The 10 V measuring range allows low voltage values to
be measured at a high potential and currents to be meas­
ured via an external shunt.
The SCM­HV applies a safety limit to the measuring
voltage, which is electrically isolated from the adjacent
channels in the QuantumX module. This allows any num­
ber of SCM­HVs to be operated without mutual interfer­
ence. The signal conditioner can be automatically identi­
fied and adjusted with TEDS (electronic data sheet).
