The SCMHV signal conditioner is used for the differen
tial measurement of high voltages with QuantumX mod
ules offering strain gauge full bridge input, for example
MX840, MX840A, MX440A and MX410.
Within the scope of measurement category II (supply net
work from the socket), the maximum operating voltage to
ground potential is 300 V DC or 300 V rms AC. Taking
the maximum acceptable rms value into account, the
peak value of the voltage must not at any time exceed
700 V between the connections (differential mode) and to
ground potential (common mode).
Its robustness in the face of high voltages and transients
also makes the SCMHV suitable input protection for
QuantumX modules, when the voltages to be measured
include high voltage peaks.
The 10 V measuring range allows low voltage values to
be measured at a high potential and currents to be meas
ured via an external shunt.
The SCMHV applies a safety limit to the measuring
voltage, which is electrically isolated from the adjacent
channels in the QuantumX module. This allows any num
ber of SCMHVs to be operated without mutual interfer
ence. The signal conditioner can be automatically identi
fied and adjusted with TEDS (electronic data sheet).
