❐ When the device is fi rst used, light smoke and smells may develop. This is nothing
unusual and does not impair the safety of the device (see the "Before Initial Use"
chapter).
Correct Set-Up and Connection
❐ Use the device only in closed rooms.
❐ Always set up the device with enough clearance on all sides and above (around 30
cm) and on a dry, even, stable and heat-resistant surface.
❐ Maintain suffi cient clearance from other sources of heat such as hotplates or stoves
in order to avoid damage to the device.
❐ In order to avoid electric shocks, do not use the device near water or other liquids.
❐ The device should never be set up or used in the vicinity of highly fl ammable materi-
als (curtains, textiles etc.).
❐ Never operate the device on a hob or in the vicinity of a gas source.
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with safety con-
tacts. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains volt-
age must match the technical data for the device (see the "Technical Data" chapter). Only
use suitable extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
❐ Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may be-
come caught and pull the device down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does
not come into contact with hot surfaces.
❐ Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, strong temperature fl uctuations,
direct sunlight or moisture.
Proper Use
❐ Always check the device for damage before putting it into operation. If the device, the
cable or the plug shows visible signs of damage, the device must not be used. Do not
use the device if it has malfunctioned or been dropped.
❐ If the device, the cable or the mains plug is defective, do not attempt to repair the
device yourself. In the event of any damage, contact our customer service department.
❐ In the event of a fi re:
– It is essential to remove the mains plug immediately.
– Hot fat / oil may catch fi re if it is overheated. Do not extinguish burning fat / oil with
water, but smother the fl ames with a fi reproof blanket or similar cloth or extinguish
a fat fi re with a fi re extinguisher which is capable of extinguishing fi res involving
cooking fat!
Do NOT use water to extinguish the fi re as the steam can pose an additional
risk of scalding.
– Dispose of the device.
❐ Never leave the device unsupervised during operation.
❐ Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
