3. Test preparation
Attach the pump, together with the stipulated test equipment and
13
clamping components, to the injection pump test bench. Supply the
14
electrical cutout switch with the stipulated voltage, using the terminals
15
and leads supplied with the EPS 807 to 815 (see also operating
16
instructions for the injection pump test bench). If there is no voltage
17
supply available, the latter can be supplied by a battery or charger.
The voltage value must be taken from the current test value sheet.
a) Distributor injection pump with EDC but without
24
semi-differential short-circuiting ring sensor
- Connect the pump with the appropriate system connection to
the tester EPS 865 via the interconnecting cable (diagramm 1,
pos. 23) (see point 5).
23
- Zeroize the read-out potentiometer (diagram 1, pos. 5).
- Switch on the EPS 865 tester at the mains switch (diagram 1,
pos. 7).
- Allow the pump to warm up.
b) Distributor injection pump with EDC and with
semi-differential short-circuiting ring sensor
- Connect the supply lead and signal lead (diagram 2, pos. 18) to
the EPS 910 ballast (diagram 2, pos. 16).
- Connect the supply lead (diagram 2, pos. 20) to the 13.5 V/10
A sockets (diagram 2, pos. 11) on the EPS 865 tester.
- Connect the signal lead (diagram 2, pos. 19) to the EPS 865
tester connection (diagram 2, pos. 8).
- Connect the pump with the appropriate system connection (see
point 5) to the ballast EPS 910 (diagram 2, pos. 17) via the
interconnecting cable (diagramm 2, pos. 23).
- If required, connect the system connections for the injection
timing solenoid valve to the EPS 865 tester.
- Zeroize the read-out potentiometer (diagram 1, pos. 5).
- Switch on the EPS 865 tester at the mains switch
(diagram 1, pos. 7).
- Allow the pump to warm up.
i First of all, the EPS 865 tester carries out a self-test. During the
self-test, 8888 is indicated on the digital display (diagram 1,
pos. 4). When the read-out potentiometer is zeroized, the
check-back voltage of the shutoff stop is then displayed.
! Always comply with the instructions in the current test
manual.
! Always comply with the operating sequence, in order to
avoid faulty measurements.
