Stop the engine, lock the chain brake and put on the
chain guard.
Maintenance
- Before performing maintenance work switch off
the chain saw and pull out the plug cap.
- Before starting work always check the operating
safety of the chain saw, in particular the function of
the chain brake. Make sure the saw chain is
properly sharpened and tensioned .
- Operate the chain saw only at a low noise and
emission level. For this ensure the carburetor is
adjusted correctly.
- Regularly clean the chain saw.
- Regularly check the tank cap for tightness.
Observe the accident prevention instructions issued
by trade associations and insurance companies. Do
not perform any modifications on the chain saw.
You will put your safety at risk.
Perform only the maintenance and repair works
described in the instruction manual.
All other work must be carried out by ELEM
GARDEN Service.
Use only original ELEM GARDEN spare parts and
accessories.
Using spare parts other than original ELEM
GARDEN parts or accesories and guide bar/
chain combinations or lengths which are not
approved bring a high risk of accidents.
We cannot accept any responsibility for accidents
and damage resulting from using sawing devices or
accesories which have not been approved.
Maintenance and cleaning before
storage.
Caution: never store a chain saw for longer
than 30 days without performing the following
procedures.
Storing a chain saw for longer
than 30 days requires storage maintenance.
Unless the storage instructions are followed, fuel
remaining in the carburetor will evaporate,
leaving gum-like deposits. This could lead to difficult
starting and result in costly repairs.
Remove the fuel tank cap slowly to release any
pressure in tank. Carefully drain the fuel
tank.
Start the engine and let it run until the unit
stops to remove fuel from carburetor.
Allow the engine to cool (approx. 5 minutes).
Using a spark plug wrench, remove the spark
plug.
Pour 1 teaspoon of clean 2-cycle oil into the
combustion chamber. Pull starter rope slowly
several times to coat internal components. Replace
spark plug.
Note: store the unit in a dry place and away
from possible sources of
ignition such as a furnace, gas hot water heater,
gas dryer, etc.
Removing a unit from storage
Remove spark plug.
Pull starter rope briskly to clear excess oil from
combustion chamber.
Clean and gap spark plug or install a new spark
plug with proper gap.
Prepare unit for operation.
Fill fuel tank with proper fuel / oil mixture. See
fuel and lubrication section
First aid
For the event of a possible accident, please make
sure that a first aid kit is always immediately
available close by. Immediately replace any items
used from the first aid box.
When calling for help, give the following information:
- Place of the accident

Vibrations
After a long period of use of the machine, the
vibration may cause a disturbance in the blood flow
of hands ("White finger disease").
It is not possible to set a valid period of use in
general, since the effect of the vibrations depends
on several factors.
The following precautions will help to prolong the
duration of use
- Keep hands warm (wear warm gloves);
- Take breaks.
The following factors shorten the duration of use:
- Personal tendency to suffer poor blood supply to
(symptoms often cold fingers, tingling);
- Use at low ambient temperatures;
- Force exerted on the handles (a very firm grip
discomfort irrigation blood).
If you regularly use the machine for long periods
and that symptoms listed above (eg. tingling fingers)
is show several times, it is recommended to get by
auscultation a doctor.
