2. INSTALLATION
Danger
• These instructions are mandatory for the home drive and automation professional
installing the drive.
• The battery must be prevented from touching the motorised product's apron.
• Never drop, knock or puncture the battery or immerse it in liquid.
• Do not dispose of the battery by burning. Risk of explosion
Before installation or commissioning, charge the battery fully using the external NIMH BATTERY
CHARGER (not supplied) available in the Somfy catalogue.
The three components – solar panel, battery and drive – must be installed on the same side of
the motorised product.
Warning
• The battery must be installed inside the housing of the motorised product and
secured by means of Somfy brackets and elastic bands (may or may not be supplied
with the battery).
• Always place the connectors in the upper section of the housing.
• Install the battery at least 1 m from any source of flame.
1) Fasten the brackets using suitable screws or pop
rivets inside the housing of the motorised product, in
accordance with the following information:
Distance between the brackets
9.6 V battery: 2 brackets
16.8 V battery: 3 brackets
Leave a gap of 6 mm around the brackets so that they
can be extended when installing the battery.
2) Clip the battery to the brackets.
3) Attach the elastic bands to block the opening of the
brackets and prevent the battery from coming out (for
example when transporting the motorised product).
