9.6V NIMH NAKED BATTERY - 16.8V NIMH NAKED BATTERY
3.2.3. Response to insufficient battery
When the Up, my or Down button is pressed, the drive
does not execute the command, but makes a short up-
and-down movement.
3.2.4. Response to drained battery (less than 6.8 V
for 9.6 V batteries, and less than 11.9 V for
16.8 V batteries)
When the Up, my or Down button is pressed, the drive no
longer reacts to the command.
Thanks to the solar panel, the battery voltage will increase to 9.6 V or 16.8 V again, depending on the
version used, and the drive will resume normal operation. There is nevertheless an alternative solution
to recharge the battery using the NIMH BATTERY CHARGER available in the Somfy catalogue.
3.3. MAINTENANCE
Attention
• Any use of another battery charger is prohibited.
• Never leave the battery discharged.
The life of the battery is about 8 years.
If the motorised product behaves abnormally as described in the previous section and the drive
does not return to normal operation after a sunny period, there has probably been a major
discharge from the battery. In this case, the battery needs to be charged using the Somfy-
compatible external battery charger by a drive and home automation professional.
• If this occurs on a regular basis, the battery must be replaced or the orientation of the solar
panel must be changed by a drive and home automation professional.
