Central ventilation unit – KWL 250 W/W ET
6.4.1 Conditions for adjustment
• The installation of the ventilation system must be fully completed.
• Ventilation components such as e.g. unit, distribution boxes and valves must be freely accessible.
• The unit must be electrically connected and operational (make sure the filters in the unit are clean!).
• The ventilation valves must be fully open.
• The initial commissioning has been successfully performed.
• All planned overflow openings (door gaps, ventilation grilles, or the like) between the rooms must be available and
clear.
• A flow rate calculation is available for the individual operating points (total or per room). We recommend the calcula-
tion according to DIN 1946-6.
6.4.2 Perform pressure measurement for adjusting the system
Necessary equipment:
• Pressure gauge
• Flow rate measuring device with measuring funnel and settling section
• KWL
unit characteristic curves for supply air and extract air (included in installation and operating instructions)
®
• Design calculation
In order to adjust the system, a pressure measurement must be performed to determine the system characteristic curve
and the corresponding operating points.
The flow rate depending on static pressure is specified in the unit characteristic curve.
Operating point: The operating point is the point where the unit characteristic curve intersects the system characteristic
curve.
Flow rate:
The flow rate which is set in the unit can be read on the horizontal axis.

Determine system characteristic curves for supply and extract air:
1. Install pressure measuring connectors in the unit supply and extract air ducts as well as the exhaust and intake air
ducts (see Fig. 25).
ⓘ Ensure approx. 20 cm straight settling section up to the measuring connectors!

device
2. Set the following values in the respective ventilation profile: Away from home: 30 % / At home: 50 % / Intensive ven-
tilation: 80 % (cf. Fig. 26) via the easyControls 3.0 software or the KWL-BE Touch control element for the fan powers.
3. Select the individual ventilation profiles (Away from home, At home, Intensive ventilation) one after the other and
measure the static differential pressure between the extract air and exhaust air and the supply air and intake air.
ⓘ The adjustment is presented as an example using the example of the KWL 360 W unit. All measurements and
