Installation and Operating Instructions
CHAPTER 3
PRODUCT
INFORMATION
Central ventilation unit – KWL 250 W/W ET
Different versions and unfavourable installation and operating conditions can lead to a reduction of output or increased
sound levels. The figures for the air-side sound are recognised as A-weighted sound power levels LWA (L
res in A-weighted sound pressure (L
deviations in the figures.
In order to achieve the planned performance data (e.g. optimal volume flow, less noise and current consumption),
attention must be paid to the correctly planned and executed air distribution (intake air/supply air and extract air/
exhaust air). Furthermore, these must always be dimensioned accordingly.
2.6
Regulations and guidelines
If the ventilation unit is installed correctly and used to its intended purpose, it conforms to all applicable regulations and
CE guidelines at its date of manufacture.
2.7
Warranty claims – Exclusion of liability
All versions of this documentation must be observed, otherwise the warranty shall cease to apply. The same applies
to liability claims against the manufacturer.
The use of accessory parts which are not recommended or offered by Helios is not permitted. Any possible damages
are not covered by the warranty.
Changes and modifications to the product are not permitted and lead to a loss of conformity, and any warranty and
liability shall be excluded in this case.

The Name plate can be located on the inside of the ventilation unit, above the heat exchanger (8). To view the name
plate, the heat exchanger (8) will need to be removed.
3.2
Functional description
The unit has a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger continuously extracts heat from the stale room air (extract air) and
transfers this heat to the fresh intake air, which flows into all rooms connected to the duct system as pre-heated, filtered
supply air. The stale air is extracted from the connected rooms via the duct system. It flows through the duct system
back to the ventilation unit, gives off heat and is led outside through the exhaust air duct (see Fig. 2).
The heat recovery efficiency depends on the factors of humidity and the temperature difference between intake and
extract air. Units with enthalpy heat exchangers (KWL 250 W ET) recover humidity from the extract air in addition to heat,
which is returned to the rooms through the supply air.
