WARNING risk of scalding
Hot steam is released when the boiler is opened
during or immediately after use.
Allow the appliance to cool down completely and
empty the water tank before you unscrew the cap
on the boiler.
CAUTION – risk of material damage
Remove limescale from the boiler regularly, and at
least every three months.
1.Unplug the plug from the socket and remove the
iron from the base unit.
2.Remove the water tank and empty it.
3.[image: cover, cap, grooves, cross-head screw]
Turn the base unit over so that you can access the
cover of the boiler cap on the underside.
4.Loosen the cross-head screw and fold the cover
up.
5.For protection against burns, place a cloth on the
boiler cap before you carefully loosen it. If residual
steam is still leaking out, this will first be caught in
the cloth.
6.Unscrew the cap of the boiler and remove the
cloth and the cap.
7.Empty the boiler into a sink.
8.Pour clear water into the boiler and tighten the
boiler cap again.
9.Carefully shake the unit so that the limescale
residues that may have formed in the boiler loosen,
and empty out the water again.
Repeat this process until only clear, clean water
comes out without residues.
There must always be water in the boiler. Therefore,
refill the boiler with water.
10.Pour around 400ml of clear, clean water into the
boiler and tighten the boiler cap again.
Storing the steam generator iron
1.Empty the water tank.
2.Coil the mains cable around the cable-holder and
place the iron on the rest plate.
3.Store the appliance out of the reach of children.

FAULTS / SOLUTIONS
No steam is coming out
•The water tank is empty / The Water tank indicator
light comes on
The steam release button on the iron has not been
pressed.
The temperature dial is set too low.
Only a little steam is coming out.
•If the steam volume reduces whilst ironing, switch
the steam generator function off using the steam
release button so that more steam can build
up in the boiler again.
It takes a very long time for the Steam indicator
light to come on
•If the boiler has not been cleaned for a long period
of time, limescale residues can make the warm-up
time longer.
When steam ironing, water drips out of the steam
openings on the soleplate.
•The temperature dial is set too low. It must be set
to **.
A small amount of water sometimes collects
below the unit
•There is a safety valve on the underside. This
prevents excess pressure in the boiler and occasio-
nally opens. This is not a fault. If necessary, place a
waterproof mat under the base unit.
Large damp areas can be found around the water
tank.
•Check whether the water tank is positioned
correctly (see the section on "Preparing the steam
generator iron for first use – Filling with water").
•If the water tank was removed for a long period,
a small amount of water may leak through the
connecting opening. Wipe this away carefully.
Hissing sounds or the electric pump can be heard
during use
•Normal operating sounds. Not a fault.
