WARNING – risk of scalds, burns and fire
•Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged in or is still hot.
•Hot steam is released when the boiler is opened during or immediately after use.
Only open the boiler for cleaning, and never during use.
Allow the appliance to cool down completely and empty the water tank before you unscrew the cap on the
boiler.
•Do not replace the cap on the boiler with a different one.
•Never iron garments while they are being worn!
•Never direct the soleplate at people or animals, especially when you are using the steam ironing setting.
•The steam emitted is very hot! Touching either the heated soleplate or the emitted steam will lead to burns
or scalds.
•Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning or storing it.
•Be careful when removing the water tank and avoid touching the soleplate of the iron.
CAUTION – risk of minor injuries and material damage
•Only use the iron on fabrics that are suitable for ironing. Follow the care instructions in the garments you
are ironing. The ironing symbols shown on the temperature dial correspond to the standard care symbols.
•Polyacrylics, acetate-polyamide mixed fabrics and similar materials cannot be ironed.
•Place the steam generator iron on a flat, level surface so that the iron and base unit cannot fall.
•Ensure that the mains cable does not present a trip hazard.
•Use an ironing board or ironing table for ironing.
•Always return the iron to the rest plate on the base unit, even during short breaks from ironing.
•The connecting cord and mains cable should not become kinked or squashed. Keep the connecting cord
and mains cable away from sharp edges, the hot soleplate and other sources of heat.
•Only wind the mains cable around the cable storage section and not around the iron. Unwind the mains
cable fully before use.
•Use tap water without any additives such as perfume, fabric softeners or starch.
Do not put any vinegar, limescale remover or other additives into the water tank.
Do not use carbonated water.
If the water in your area is extremely hard (over 21 on the water hardness scale) you should use a mixture
of tap water and distilled water in a ratio of 1:1.
•Do not scratch the soleplate. Do not scrape the soleplate over metal parts like buttons or zips.
•If the Water tank [symbol] indicator light comes on, switch off the appliance immediately and refill with
water.
Always fill the water tank with water before using the steam ironing setting, otherwise the pump can be
damaged.
•It is possible that some types of varnish, synthetic materials or furniture care products may affect the
slip-resistant feet and soften them, leaving unwanted marks on furniture. If necessary, place a non-slip mat
underneath the product.
•There is a safety valve at the bottom of the boiler that prevents a build-up of excess pressure in the boiler.
Some water may escape from this valve during normal use. If necessary, place a waterproof mat underneath
the base unit.
•Empty the water tank of the steam generator iron after every use.
•Remove limescale from the boiler regularly, and at least every three months.
•Only use the original attachments.
•Do not use any harsh chemicals, aggressive or abrasive cleaning or limescale removal products for cleaning.
