DANGER for children and people with limited capacity for using appliances
•This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 and by people with limited physical, sensory or
intellectual abilities and a lack of experience and/or knowledge, if they are either supervised or shown how
to use the appliance safely and have understood the possible associated dangers.
Children must not undertake cleaning or maintenance without supervision.
Children must not play with the appliance.
The steam generator iron and its mains cable must be kept out of reach of children younger than 8 from the
moment the iron is plugged in until it has cooled down completely.
•Keep packaging out of reach of children.
There is a danger of suffocation, amongst other things.
DANGER from electricity
•Only the water tank should be filled with water before use. The pressurised boiler on the base unit should
only be filled directly with water for cleaning and topped up after cleaning. However, the base unit and the
iron must never be submerged in water or other liquids, as this would risk causing an electric shock. Please
also protect the appliance from drops and splashes of water.
•Do not touch the product with damp hands.
•No liquid should be allowed to reach the circular grooves around the opening of the pressurised boiler.
If this does occur, turn the base unit upright and allow it to dry for at least twelve hours.
•Do not direct steam at electrical appliances or plug sockets.
Turn the steam ironing function off with the steam release button before you return the iron to the rest
plate on the base unit.
•Only plug in the appliance using an earthed socket that has been properly installed and is easily accessible,
and which operates using the correct voltage in accordance with the appliance's technical specification.
•The socket must be readily accessible so that in an emergency the plug can be pulled out quickly.
•Ensure that the mains cable and the connecting cord are completely unwound before use.
•Do not use the appliance if either the appliance itself or the mains cable show visible damage, or if the
appliance has been dropped or is leaking.
•The connecting cord is placed under heavy strain while the iron is in use so you should check it regularly for
signs of damage. If you identify damage in any area the steam generator iron must not be used again until
the damage has been properly repaired.
•Do not alter the product in any way. Even the mains cable should not be replaced at home. All repairs to
the appliance or the mains cable should only be undertaken at a specialised workshop or at the service
centre, or by an equivalently qualified person. Inappropriate repairs can cause significant risks for the user.
•Remove the plug from the socket:
-before you remove the water tank for filling or emptying,
-if faults arise during use,
-during a thunderstorm,
-when you stop ironing (even if only for a short time),
-after use, and
-before you clean the appliance.
Always turn the temperature and steam dials to the lowest setting and turn the appliance off before you
remove the plug from the socket.
Always pull on the plug and not the mains cable.
•Do not insert any objects into the openings on the appliance. These could come into contact with live
parts, or the appliance could overheat.
