OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
UNPACKING
1. Removeheaterfromcarton.
2. Removeallprotectivematerialwhichmayhavebeenapplied
totheheaterforshipment.
3. Checktheheaterforpossibleshippingdamage.Ifany
damageisfoundimmediatelycontactthemanufacturerat
888-848-5175.
ASSEMBLY (For140,000and210,000BTU/hrmodelsonly)
Wheels,axle,andhandlesarefoundintheshippingcartonalong
withmountinghardware.
1. Handlescomepre-assembledonthetank.Thetransport
handleandsupportfootsimplysnapintoplace.
2. Toassemblethewheels,firstInstalloneofthelargelocknut
ontotheendoftheaxle.
3. Slideonewheelontotheaxlenexttothenut,thenone
spacer.
4. Slidethepartiallyassembledaxlethroughthewheelsupport
frame.
5. Slidethespacerontotheaxlenexttothewheelsupport.
6. Slidethewheel,thenlargelastlargelocknutontotheaxle.
Usingtwoadjustablewrenchesholdbothnutsandtighten.
DONOTOVERTIGHTEN.
PREPARING FOR OPERATION
1. Checktheheaterforpossibleshippingdamage.Ifanyis
found,immediatelycontactthemanufacturerat
888-848-5175.
2. Followallofthe"Precautions".
3. Fillthefueltankwithcleankerosene.Inextremelycold
weather,condensationmaydevelopinthetankanditis
recommendedthatatablespoonofde-icerbeaddedfor
eachgallon(3.78Liters)offuelinthetank.Whenfilling
theheater,useatleast2gallons(7.57liters)offuel.Besure
heaterislevelanddonotoverfill.Useafunnelorcanwitha
longfillspout.
IMPORTANT: Before filling fuel tank the first time or after ex-
tended storage periods, drain the fuel tank of any moisture
or condensation.
4. Locateheateratasafedistancefromcombustiblematerials.
ModelPCXH80KTisnotsuitableforuseonwoodfloorsor
othercombustiblematerials.Whenused,theheatershould
restonsuitableinsulatingmaterialatleast1inchthickand
extending3ft.ormorebeyondtheheaterinalldirections.
HEATER START UP
1. Turnthermostattolowestsetting,andmakesure"On/Off"
switchis"Off".Plugtheheaterintoagrounded115V,60Hz,
1Øoutlet.Turnthermostattohighestsetting.Startheater
bypushingtoggleswitchto"On"position(lightsignifies
switchisin"ON"position).Adjustthermostattodesired
setting.Heaterwillcycleon/offasheatisrequired.
EXTENSIONCORDREQUIREMENTS:Upto100'(30.5m)use
16awg.conductor.101'-200'(30.5-61.0m)use14awg.
conductor.

start,toggletheswitchto"Off",wait5min.andtoggle
theswitchto"On".
HEATER SHUT DOWN
1. Push"On/Off"switchto"Off"position.Forextended
shutdown,unplugheaterfrompowersource.
RESTART AFTER SAFETY SHUTDOWN
1. Toggleswitchto"OFF"position,wait5minutes.Restart.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
WARNING.Topreventpersonalinjury,unplugtheheaterfrom
thewalloutletbeforeservicing.
Formaximumefficiencyandtrouble-freeservice,makethe
followingperiodicmaintenance,cleaningandinspections.
ADJUSTING PUMP PRESSURE
Duetovaryingfuelviscositiesandnormalcomponentwearthe
pumppressureonthisheatermayneedtobeadjusted.
FUELPRESSUREADJUSTMENTSCREW

ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1.Fillfueltank.
2.Startheater.
3.Locatethepressureadjustmentscrewandpressuretap,
picturedabove,locatedonthebackofthepowerpack
assemblyandaccessiblebythehandleoftheheater.
4.Removeandtherubbercapoverthefuelpressureadjustment
screw.
5.Usingaflatbladedscrewdriver,turnthepumppressure
adjustmentscrew:
•clockwise
toincreasepumppressure
•counter-clockwise
Byusingtheinstalledpressuregaugeyoumayquantitatively
calibratethepressure.Themanufacturer'srecommendedpump
pressuresareinthespecificationschartonpage3.
