Which type of cable should I use?
The diameter of the wires will determine the maximum distance between the power supply and the internal or external unit. The maximum
distance can be doubled by joining two pairs.
The table below provides an overview of the maximum distance per type of cable.
Cable diameter
0.5 mm (e.g. UTP, cat. 5U)
0.6 mm (e.g. TPVF)
0.8 mm (e.g. SVV, TVVF, JYSTY, ...)
Should I use two-wire or three-wire cabling?
Two-wire cabling should be used for smaller installations with only one external unit. A maximum of two internal units can then be called at the
same time.
Three-wire cabling should be used in all other cases with more than one external unit, which allows a maximum of four internal units to be
called at the same time.
