Original manual for petrol chainsaw FX-KSP series
Attach the chain to the sprocket and place it
around the guide bar.
Make sure that the chain is aligned correctly
(see illustration).
Then fit the chain cover and tighten the two
nuts only hand-tight.
9 Chain tensioner
d) Pull the guide bar slightly upwards in the
connection and adjust the chain tension at
the same time. For correct tension, the chain
should lightly touch the underside of the bar.
e) Then tighten the fastening nuts of the
chain cover with the guide bar pulled up-
wards. Check the chain for ease of
movement and correct tension by moving it
by hand in the direction of travel. Adjust if
necessary (cover and chain tension).
f) Adjusting the chain tension:
- To loosen the chain, turn anticlockwise.
- To tighten the chain, turn clockwise.
It is very important to maintain the correct
chain tension. Rapid wear of the guide bar or
slight jumping off of the chain can be caused
by improper tension. Especially when using a
new chain, take good care of it, as it should
stretch when first used.
The claw stop is part of the chainsaw. It must
be screwed onto the chainsaw before using it
for the first time. Please attach the claw stop
to the front of the chainsaw with two screws.
Operation
Fuel and chain oil
CAUTION!
Never use a 4-stroke oil mixture for the fuel
and oil. This mixture would cause major en-
gine damage!
WARNING!
Danger of explosion! Observe the following:
− Keep fire and naked flames away from
areas in which fuel is used and stored.
− Do not smoke when handling fuel.
− Mix and store fuel only in containers
approved for this purpose.
− Only replenish the fuel-oil mixture in the
open.
