Important Notes
!
The Rheingold cars are scale dimensioned without conces-
sions to the loading gauge. These models can be run on a
minimum curve of 360 mm / 14-3/16" radius. Due to the scale
dimensions of the various components of the cars, it is possible
that the battery boxes on the underside of the cars' frames will
hit the lanterns on older M Track turnouts. In this situation, we
recommend that you remove the turnout lanterns.
The 73400 lighting kit can be installed in these cars (2 pieces per
passenger car). The cars are prepared for this installation.
The 72020 current-conducting couplers are used on these cars
for operation in a fixed train composition. Current is supplied to
all of the cars by means of a pickup shoe on the baggage car.
The interior lighting and the red marker light can be turned on
and off by installing a decoder.

Installation of the Decoder
We recommend using the 60942 decoder for an installation.
• Open the baggage car as well as the passenger cars (p. 11)
• Remove the interface connector plug
• Plug in the decoder
• Put the car back together
Function:
Aux 1: Interior lights (current-conducting couplers)
Aux 2: Red marker light
Please read the instructions for your decoder.
Alternatively, solder the wires from the decoder to the circuit
board for connections in the car (p. 12).
