1. Intended use
The devices are safety controllers for connection to an OSYnet group bus. They are
used to maintain the basic system functions for an OSYnet group if the control unit
(IP-SystemManager or OSY-ControlCenter) fails. According to the German standard DIN
VDE 0834, this redundancy is required if the control unit is not installed locally on the
ward or is supplied with a separate power supply.
OSYnet-SafetyController 2 (76 2200 00) is intended for connection to the OSYnet group

NOTICE
The complete installation of the system is described in the technical manual.
CAUTION
The printed circuit board includes electrostatic sensitive components. Avoid
touching.
3. Product description
If the communication between the OSYnet group bus and the control unit (IP-System-
Manager or OSY-ControlCenter) fails, the OSYnet-SafetyController 2 (SE) automatically
takes over the control of the devices connected to the OSYnet group bus. The OSYnet-
SafetyController operation does not offer the full range of functions as the normal
operation, i.e. operation with the IP-SystemManager or OSY-ControlCenter.
