UNIT
Each TESATRONIC can measure in both metric and inch units with direct conversion.
There's no effect on the measured value.
Changes the analogue and digital indications from metric to inch.

Modes «MEASURE» and «HOLD»
HOLD
Each instrument allows the measured values to be continuously displayed or display to be
locked on desired value in the hold mode.
Allows to change over
HOLD
from a mode to another,
i.e. continuous value dis-
playing or hold mode as
shown opposite.
6.5.1 MEASURE mode
In this mode, your TESATRONIC reads each measuring channel A and B continuously
whilst displaying the actual value of the relevant measuring function.
Displayed value is sent to the RS232 interface. During data transmis-
M
sion, the symbol of the unit disappears for a short while, telling you that
the value has been transferred.
6.5.2 HOLD mode
Enable this mode to have your TESATRONIC waiting for another operation.
The measuring mode is enabled until this key is released. If so, the
M
instruments stops reading the channels A and B, stores each read value
in the memory and displays the measurement result. This result is then
sent to the interface. During data transmission, the symbol of the unit
disappears for a short while, telling you that the value has been trans-
ferred.

This key
along with the input for the foot switch (5, Fig. 2) and both contact relays
7 and 14 (R-M switch) on the 15-pin connector (6, Fig. 2) have the same function.
