  • Page 5 NSTALLATION ESKTOP NSTALLATION 1. Set the T/P switch to T for touch-tone service, or P for pulse (rotary) service. If you don’t know which type of T/P switch service you have, check with the phone company. 2. Set RINGER switch (on the handset) to ON. 3.
  • Page 6 OUNT NSTALLATION Because it is necessary to charge the handset for 12 hours prior to connecting the phone for use the first time, it is better to leave the unit on a flat surface during initial charge before attempting to hang it on the wall.
  • Page 7 5. Attach the mounting bracket so that the bottom of the phone is flat by inserting the tabs into the slots on the top of the unit first, and then snapping the bottom tabs into place. 6. Plug the telephone line cord into the jack marked PHONE LINE on the back of the unit and plug the other end into a modular wall jack.

  • Page 15 NSERTING A AUSE IN THE IALING EQUENCE Press the FLASH button to insert a delay in the dialing sequence of a stored telephone number when a pause is needed to wait for a dial tone (for example, after you dial 9 for an outside line or when you need to wait for a computer access tone).

  • Page 17 NSWERING ACHINE PERATION This section discusses the buttons MESSAGES counter and features on the answering machine. ESSAGES OUNTER The MESSAGES counter shows how many new messages you have. The ANSW ON/ OFF button must be on in order for the MESSAGES counter to work.
  • Page 18 ESSAGE LAYBACK The messages indicator lets you know when you have messages. To play messages, press PLAY/STOP. While a message is playing, you can do the following: • Press PLAY/ STOP to stop the message playback. • Press and release REVIEW to restart the current message;...
  • Page 19 RASING ESSAGES You can erase messages three ways: one message at a time using the ERASE button on the base; all messages using the ERASE button on the base; or one message at a time using the ERASE button (0) on the handset or a phone in another location.
