WINTERIZING YOUR PRESSURE WASHER
Frozen water inside the pump will ruin components such as the plunger seals. Follow these winterizing steps whenever
the pressure washer must be stored in freezing temperatures.
1. Ensure machine is OFF, water supply is disconnected and pressure has been relieved.
2. Obtain a one-gallon container of antifreeze. Using 100% antifreeze in the pump (#37) will not harm it.
3. Use compressed air and blow through the inlet of the gun (#24) to remove residual water. The trigger on the
spray wand must be held open while blowing the compressed air.
4. Remove the nozzle (#17 or #21) from the wand (#25) and lay the hose (#8) and wand flat on the floor.
5. Place a suction hose from the pump inlet into the antifreeze. Squeeze and hold the spray gun trigger. Turn the
pump ON to draw antifreeze into the system. When antifreeze appears at the end of the spray wand, turn the
pump OFF.
6. When preparing to operate the equipment next time, remove the antifreeze as follows:
a. Connect the water supply.
b. Prime the pump as described in the Starting the Pressure Washer section.
c. Turn the pump on.
d. Spray water to flush the system. Continue until the water stream is clear of any antifreeze.
DISPOSAL
Recycle a tool damaged beyond repair at the appropriate facility.
Contact your local municipality for a listing of disposal facilities or by-laws for electronic devices, batteries, oil or other
toxic liquids.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT pollute the environment by allowing uncontrolled discharge of waste oil.
